Hi families and neighbours! Growing up, I was always surrounded by my cousins and naturally took on the role of looking after them, which is where my love for caring for children began. I later worked in the childcare industry for three years, gaining valuable experience supporting children’s routines, learning and development. While the childcare industry didn’t sit right with me, it confirmed how much I genuinely love working closely with children and caring for people in general. I grew up in a small country town before moving here, where I regularly babysat for families in the community. I’m known for my extremely kind, nurturing and mature nature and truly love helping others. I don’t mind helping with odd jobs, errands or supporting elderly members of the community either — in fact, some of my favourite people are children and the elderly. I value connection, patience and kindness, and I bring that into everything I do. I’m currently working in hospitality, but I would absolutely love the opportunity to support local families by caring for their children and giving parents the chance to enjoy a well-deserved break, knowing their loved ones are in safe, caring hands.
I haven’t undergone professional training with a certificate but within the childcare industry I have gained valuable experience and training with working with children who have additional needs. I adore all people and believe that their needs, feelings and everything should be catered for and supported just like anyone else. (Obviously catered to their individual needs). At one centre we did training that spoke about how to support all children especially if they have additional needs. I believe that someone with a certificate or proper training may have knowledge but experience and skills outweigh a certificate in my opinion. I am an extremely empathetic and caring person and love helping everyone no matter the diversity.
I have three years of experience working in childcare settings and have completed all of my Certificate III theory. During this time, I supported children with daily routines, learning activities, emotional regulation and general care across different age groups. Although I chose not to complete my qualification due to centre environments not aligning with my personal values, the experience reinforced how much I genuinely love working with children. I am very passionate about providing attentive, ethical and emotionally supportive care, and I discovered that I thrive most in more personal settings such as babysitting and one-on-one care. Before moving to Sydney from a small country town, I regularly babysat for local families in my community. I come from a large family with many younger cousins whom I have always helped nurture and look after. I don’t have a preferred age group, as I believe every stage of childhood has its own strengths and challenges. I particularly enjoy helping children communicate and navigate their emotions, while I also love caring for babies and understanding their unique needs. Throughout my experience, colleagues and family members have consistently commended my bubbly energy, patience and natural ability to connect with children.
