Hi all! I moved to Australia from Ireland in July. I am a qualified primary school teacher and have just finished working in youth work for underprivileged children in outback Australia for the last five months. I am qualified in first aid, food safety and I have a lot of experience working with children as young as 9 months old all the way to late teenage years. I am a nurturing and energetic individual with a passion for working with children. I am patient and understanding, always ready to listen and support their needs. With my strong sense of responsibility, parents can trust that their children are in safe hands. I would love to have the opportunity to work with children in any way that I can, and am committed to promoting a healthy routine and making every day enjoyable and memorable
I have worked in various special schools across Ireland and have worked closely in-school and through babysitting with children with ASD and Down Syndrome.
I have over twelve years experience working with children. Beginning in my teenage years, I had full responsibility of babysitting children as young as three months old up to early teenage years. I then worked as a ringleader in school-based environments for children ranging from 11-16 years old, in charge of medical needs, activity-based learning and overall wellbeing of students. I am also a qualified primary teacher, where I based my teaching in both mainstream and special schools, more prominently working with children in infant classes (ages 4-6). Whilst teaching, I also gave grinds to children who were struggling academically, and have five years experience teaching one-on-one with children of all capabilities in many areas of the curriculum.
I have been tutoring for five years, and have ranged my tutoring in children as young as six up to age 16. I incorporate an integrated and inclusive method to my tutoring, ensuring to include children who may find literacy and numeracy more challenging. Having dyslexia myself, I understand the difficulties relating to learning retention, and it is a main focus of mine to always base the learning on the child’s personal development and to better it in a more interactive and enjoyable way for them.
