Hi! My name is Niamh and I'm originally from Ireland, where I grew up in a family of five. I've spent the past three years working as a primary school teacher and I’m passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in both fun and meaningful ways. I hold a Bachelor of Honours degree in Early Childhood Education as well as a Masters in Primary Education and I’ve been working with children in various settings for many years. I also spent 14 years as part of a performing arts studio, which has helped me bring creativity, music, and movement into the everyday lives of the children I care for. I'm warm, reliable, and love creating a safe and joyful environment for little ones to thrive in.
I worked in a School based camp for children with additional needs for many years.
I’ve worked as a primary school teacher for the past three years, teaching children aged 4 to 13 in a classroom setting. During this time, I’ve developed strong skills in managing routines, supporting learning through play, and creating engaging, age-appropriate activities to help children grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Before teaching, I gained hands-on experience working in preschools and creches as part of my Bachelor of Honours degree in Early Childhood Education. I’ve supported children from infancy through school age, including meal prep, nappy changing, outdoor supervision, and developmental play. In addition, I was part of a performing arts studio for 14 years, which gave me the opportunity to lead dance, drama, and music-based activities with young children—something I still love to bring into my work today! I’m caring, creative, and committed to making every day a positive one for the children I work with.
While working as a primary school teacher, I also tutored pupils who spoke English as an additional language outside of school hours. Supporting these children in building their confidence and language skills was incredibly rewarding, and it gave me a deeper understanding of how to adapt communication and learning strategies to meet individual needs. Watching them grow in both their language and self-assurance was one of the most fulfilling parts of my role.
