I am Adiba, an education support officer looking for some tutoring work! Over the past five years, I’ve worked with kids across all ages, from Year 1 to 12, teaching both English and Maths in classrooms and one-on-one sessions. Through my experience, I’ve learned how to adapt lessons to suit each student’s learning style and create lessons that are engaging and supportive. I love making my sessions as fun and interactive as possible! I love helping my students build their confidence and enjoy their learning experience, and I’ve found that strong communication, patience, and enthusiasm make a huge difference. I’m especially drawn to smaller class settings where I can get to know students better and tailor lessons to their individual goals. I’m reliable, responsible, and always show up ready to do my best. I understand how important it is to be on time, well-presented, and able to work independently. I’m very organised and detail-focused, which helps me plan lessons effectively and keep track of students’ progress. I also take pride in being clear and approachable when communicating with both students and parents. I’m also flexible and committed, always aiming to provide steady, ongoing support to help students grow.
I have provided dedicated support to students with diverse disabilities for the past 2 years, ensuring all their individual and learning needs are met. I use non-verbal communication strategies and am familiar with assistive technologies to enhance learning and communication. I have a strong understanding of special needs students' needs. I adapt teaching materials to suit different levels of ability and provide both emotional and physical support. I am also equipped to assist with toileting, meals and administering medication for students requiring special care. I have also developed a skillset to be able to help students become more aware of their emotions and enabling them to express themselves better, giving them breaks when needed, helping them become more aware of time using a timer, setting healthy boundaries but also giving support whenever necessary, guiding their attention to the tasks needed to be done. I also give a lot of positive feedback for following instructions, which reinforces their actions.
My mom used to run a family day care for a year in our home and I used to help out. I love working with kids! I get to work with kids in my job as an ESO as well and it’s always really enjoyable. I love helping them develop their imagination and creativity and learning from them too! I always make sure to keep them safe and I have lots of supervisory experience from being a yard duty supervisor. I love teaching them reading, writing and maths skills and making it as fun as possible.
I have completed a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and English and am currently undertaking a Master of Teaching (English and Literature). I have also completed 2 years of a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. I hold the right to work in Australia and am in the process of obtaining my Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration. Over the past five years, I have taught and tutored English, English Language, French, Literature, Russian, and Mathematics across both primary and secondary levels. I have received a raw study score of 43 in English and 45 in Maths. I am particularly passionate about teaching English and Maths subjects. My teaching experiences required me to design personalised lesson plans, differentiate instruction for a wide range of learning needs, and align curriculum delivery with ACARA. I consistently embed best-practice pedagogy into my teaching to engage students and foster learning growth.
