Hi! I’m one of four siblings, plus a swarm of ten-something cousins who were basically permanent houseguests growing up, so I’ve never really known life without kids around, and I like it that way. The last five years I’ve looked after children from 4 to 16, and my whole approach is just paying attention to what each kid is actually obsessed with that week and going from there (dinosaurs, drawing, elaborate made-up rules to games only they understand or more complex things such as movies or music). I speak Spanish and English, so a bit of both tends to sneak in. By trade I’m a film editor, which mostly means I’m good at being patient and noticing small things — turns out that translates well to hanging out with tiny humans, who are usually the most interesting people in any room.
I’ve spent the last five years nannying and doing after-school care for kids aged 4 to 16. My approach is simple: figure out what each kid is genuinely into and build the afternoon around that — homework help that doesn’t feel like a fight, snacks. I’m reliable, I keep my eyes open, and I actually enjoy the chaos.
