Special Needs Experience

I have experience with children who have medium to high functioning ASD and ADHD. I understand how common it is for kids to require some extra assistance whether they have been diagnosed with a learning or intellectual disorder or not. I am happy for you to direct me in what is best for your child.

Childcare Experience

I have been working with children consistently over the past few years with in-home childcare. Most of my work is with primary school aged children, but I have experience with younger kids. I find that it is best to work alongside the children and see what they need, however, boundaries are important! Hopefully we share similar ideals in that children need rules but also care and support. I would like the chance to speak with you further on what is best for your family.

Tutoring Experience

I have had experience offering one on one support to children for their school work. As a linguistics student, one of my interest is child language acquisition and phonetics. I have worked as an EAL tutor for children hoping to improve their confidence and speaking skills. Also, I have had some experience assisting children as a disability teacher aid during the transitional period from primary to high school. Over the past 3 years, I have predominantly tutored French over a variety of high school levels. I have assisted in the preparation for the final Year 12 French oral examination. I am able to teach reading, listening, writing and speaking from beginner level to the end. I completed both English Literature and English Language during my secondary schooling and have continued on with Linguistics and Literary Studies in my tertiary studies. Therefore, I would also be happy to tutor for English subjects too.
