Hi families! 👋 I’m Clodagh, a 26-year-old Irish primary school teacher who has just relocated to Sydney from Port Douglas. I’ve spent over five years working as a nanny and babysitter, caring for children of all ages — from tiny newborns to fun-loving teenagers. Growing up as the eldest in a big Irish family, I was always surrounded by kids, and caring for little ones became a big part of my life. During my teaching degree, I specialised in primary education and have also worked extensively as a tutor, supporting children in all curricular areas. I love helping kids grasp new concepts and watching their confidence grow — whether it’s through learning, play, or everyday routines. I’m fun, warm, and trustworthy, and I pride myself on being reliable, organised, and easygoing. I love creating a calm, positive environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to be themselves. I’m always up for arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, music sessions, or a great storybook. As a qualified music teacher, I bring lots of creativity and energy to my care, often incorporating music and play into learning moments. Childcare Experience

I have over 10 years of nannying experience with various families, caring for children of all ages from newborns to older kids. I’ve also spent many years looking after my younger cousins, which helped me develop strong nurturing and organisational skills. My responsibilities have included school drop-offs and pick-ups, bringing children to activities, cooking healthy meals, and providing tutoring support. In addition to my nannying background, I have seven years of teaching experience with children aged 4 to 12, which has strengthened my ability to manage routines, support learning, and foster positive behaviour. I’m passionate about creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment where children can grow with confidence. What I find most rewarding about childcare is being part of a child’s development, watching them learn new skills, gain independence, and grow into their own personalities while knowing I’ve played a small part in that journey.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 5 years of tutoring experience, working with both individual students and small groups. I have provided support in Maths, English, Music, Irish, and the sciences, tailoring each session to meet the student’s needs and learning style. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and have 7 years of teaching experience across all class levels. Throughout my career, I’ve also worked in special education, supporting children with a wide range of learning needs. Maths is my particular passion. I specialised in it during my teaching degree and love helping students build confidence and truly understand new concepts. Seeing that moment when a topic ‘clicks’ for a student is what makes tutoring so rewarding for me. In addition to academics, I’m also passionate about music. I’ve played both classical and traditional Irish music since the age of four, and I play multiple instruments. I’ve been teaching music for over 10 years and love sharing the joy and creativity that music brings to children’s lives.
