Childcare Experience

I first developed an understanding of the responsibilities involved in caring for children when I began babysitting my cousins at the age of 12. From an early stage, I recognised the importance of being the sole supervisor responsible for children’s safety and wellbeing, while also ensuring that the time spent together was enjoyable and engaging. Building on this experience, I later worked as an Assistant Sand Coach at Bronte Surf Club, supporting children aged 14 and under. I also volunteered with disadvantaged children, helping to run activities such as cooking lessons and organised outings. In addition, I worked as a water polo coach for children aged 11–12, further developing my ability to mentor and support young people in a structured environment. Over the past ten years, I have continued to gain extensive experience with children through various babysitting roles. Most notably, I tutored a high school student for over two and a half years, assisting with their HSC studies and academic development. As a result, my experience working with children spans recreational activities, sport, and academic support, and I am comfortable engaging in all of these areas. I find working with children to be incredibly rewarding, as I often feel that I learn just as much from them as they learn from me.

Tutoring Experience

In recent years, I was the sole tutor for a stage 6 student, I have become increasingly passionate in wanting to share knowledge and aiding children with their education. My work entailed helping with homework, assignment plans/structure, previous work correction and any aid they required. I was the sole tutor and aided ax cross all different subjects such as General Maths, English, Business Studies, Legal Studied and Community and Family Studies. My qualifications can be most noted through my ATAR of 94.8 and my extensive experience in Sport Coaching for children, which in my opinion has a large crossover with academic tutoring. Through my experience, I pride myself on striving for tutoring to not be a chore but a rewarding experience. I aim to cultivate a positive, creative and challenging environment where progress comes naturally and comfortably.
