Childcare Experience

Hi everyone! My name is Juliette, I’m 24 years old from Ireland. I recently moved to Sydney after completing my Law degree at University College Cork, and I am excited to continue working with children and families here in Australia. Caring for and working with children has been a huge part of my life for almost 10 years. I am a qualified Irish Sailing Association sailing instructor and hockey coach, and throughout my experience I have taught, coached and cared for children of a wide range of ages and abilities in Ireland, Greece and the United States. My experience as a sailing instructor and hockey coach has also given me many years of experience supervising children, keeping them safe and engaged, and encouraging them to try new things. I particularly enjoy getting children outdoors, involved in sport and activities, and helping them develop new skills while having fun. I am equally happy with quieter activities such as reading, arts and crafts, homework or simply spending time together. I genuinely love working with children and take great pride in creating a safe, positive and nurturing environment where they feel happy, confident and supported. Most recently, I worked as a nanny for two lovely children, a girl aged 4 and a boy aged 1. Before that, I spent a year caring for two boys aged 1 and 5. These roles gave me extensive hands-on experience with the day-to-day responsibilities of caring for young children, including routines, meals, play, activities, outings and bedtime. I loved becoming part of each family’s routine and building a genuine relationship with the children. I am naturally very patient, caring and attentive, and I understand how important it is for parents to feel completely comfortable and confident in the person looking after their children. I have also worked as a babysitter in Greece and the United States. During my year studying abroad in Spain, I worked part-time as a babysitter and also as an English teacher for different families. I am first-aid and safeguarding certified and hold a clean Irish driving licence. I also speak fluent Spanish and French. As the eldest of a large family of cousins, I have been looking after younger children from a very young age, and working with children has remained something I genuinely love throughout my studies, travels and work. I am a warm, responsible, energetic and trustworthy person, and I would love the opportunity to support families in Sydney. I understand that every family and child is different, and I am always happy to adapt to their individual routines, needs and interests. Most importantly, I want the children I care for to feel safe, cared for and excited to spend time together. I am really looking forward to meeting some lovely Sydney families and hopefully becoming a trusted and familiar face for them! 😊
