Hello Everyone ☺️ I have recently moved here from Ireland and am available for short term nannying or casual babysitting. I have a bachelors degree in Early Years Education and worked in a Creche/ Montessori for 1.5 years while completing my Masters in Primary Teaching. I have worked in a variety of Primary Schools back home for the past six years including special education schools. For the last two years I worked as a Special Education Teacher providing one to one support to children with additional needs. I have been babysitting since I was 14 for family members and neighbours and worked as an aupair when I lived in Queenstown, NZ in 2019-2020. I have experience of working with children of all ages from 6 months to 12 years of age. I have also worked as an after school tutor for the past two years, mainly providing extra support in Maths and English. I have my WWCC and have NESA teacher accreditation along with a full international drivers licence. Please feel free to reach out😊

Special Needs Experience

For the past two years I worked as a Special Education Teacher in a mainstream school providing one-to-one support to children with additional needs. Such needs included but not limited to: ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, speech and language, fine and gross motor. In this role I collaborated with parents and other multidisciplinary staff in creating plans of work that would allow each child to reach their full potential while in the classroom setting. I would work individually with each child daily to assist them with their areas of difficulty and provide extra tuition. I am also a past volunteer of the Belarusian Orphanage Project where I volunteer in an orphanage for two summers in a row with children who had a range of difficulties and additional needs. I am a past volunteer of ‘Surf2heal’ which is a surf camp for children with autism. I have done a range of online courses related to special education for my role as a special education teacher.

Childcare Experience

I have worked in a variety of Primary Schools back home for the past six years including special education schools. I have been babysitting since I was 16 for family members and neighbours and worked as an aupair when I lived in Queenstown, NZ in 2019-2020. I have also worked as an after school tutor for the past two years, mainly providing extra support in Maths and English.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked as a tutor for five different families over the past three years. As I was working full time as a teacher I did a little bit of tutoring on the side. For two children I was a maths tutor. Child 1 was 7 and Child 2 was 10. Both children found maths challenging so I provided extra tuition with tips and tracks on how to tackle questions and “pull out the maths”. I would also provide practice questions and games to show its use in real life and provide an element of fun. I worked with both of these children for one hour each a week from 2022-2023. For 2 other children I worked as an English tutor. Both children had dyslexia and struggled with aspects of English such as spelling, phonics, reading and writing. I provided strategies on how to tackle comprehensions and assisted children with exercises to help improve their overall English ability.
