Hi there Newcastle families. I have been caring for children for 20 years in a range of formal and informal settings. Most recently I ran family day care from my home for 6 years, caring for newborns to 12 years. I followed national standards of care and focused on play based learning in the preschool program and supplemented the afternoon school homework program with tutoring and additional learning programs. Previous to this I have been a Nanny, and an Au Pair. I have coached kids soccer/football teams, I enjoy baking and creative arts. My passion is helping children through all their phases of development and bringing a client based focus to the care to meet the varying needs of parents and families.

Disability experience and necessary training. Experience with culturally diverse backgrounds. Experience with children who have identified learning challenges in school.
Childcare Experience
I was an Educator in my own Family Day Care business for 6 years. I cared for newborns to 12 year olds, providing exceptional care standards and quality programs. Previously to this I have been a Nanny, working as part of the families routine, including before and after school and family vacations. I have been babysitting for over 20 years and would say I have heart for children that drives my passion to see them grow and develop.
Tutoring Experience
In the after school program in my daycare I assisted with all homework from school, and used this to create the baseline for any additional needs the children had. I supplemented homework with reading, math and writing skill work. I particularly enjoy the reading eggs and math seeds program now that it is aligned to the national curriculum. During this time I also helped tutor a few high school students, focusing on assignment. preparation.
