I am mature, reliable, fun and animated. I would love to nurture and look after your children with the same care, understanding and encouragement that I gave to my own family for many years. I love active imaginative play, costuming, helping/guiding with studies and school projects, reading, all arts and crafts and I encourage children to enjoy outdoor activities. I am used to juggling work and hectic extracurricular activities with homework schedules and chores. I am also interested in helping children with learning difficulties and behavioural issues. I ran my own business, a small hospitality staffing agency, for 18 years, which allowed me to be flexible in my availability for my two children (son & daughter), who are now adults. Having also been a volunteer in both their schools, their sporting clubs and dance schools, my active involvement has contributed to them being confident and responsible adults who have been School Captains and community volunteers, and are now involved in sports, theatre, children’s education and childcare. I was a volunteer with aged care as a medical appointment companion and an in home visitor, and also a volunteer in a literacy program at a local primary school, until covid closed these programmes in 2020. I have my WWCC, Cert III in Early Childhood Education and Care, Covid-19 Certificate, Full Immunisations including three doses of the Covid Vaccine, and have a clean Drivers Licence. I like pets, am a non-smoker and can also speak limited conversational French. I often worked as a waitperson in private homes, so I am used to being discreet and respecting your privacy and I am happy to do light housekeeping duties. I love to travel overseas to visit family and enjoy puzzling, board games, live comedy, movies, cycling and long walks. I am very comfortable with babies and adore children of all ages and would enjoy caring for your family while you are at work or enjoying an outing. From March 2020 to March 2022, I was a fulltime carer as a morning nanny til lunch time, with a family whose baby was 3 months old when I began with them. This is the review by Serisha. Then from March 2022 until June 2023 I cared for a toddler each morning (m-f) from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm. He was 18 months old when I began. I currently nanny for 2 other families for after-care; both since February 2021. These are the reviews by Laura and Sarah. My current availability: For babysitting is evenings and weekends.
I have been doing occasional care for several families since 2016 and also the community liaison officer for the Little Learning School childcare centres for 3 years. Since late 2018 I have been the nanny for 6 families doing before and after school care, as well as all day. I also did overnight stays when required, for some of the families who needed to travel interstate. This included sole charge for full weeks, whilst the parent was overseas. The children ranged from 3 months to 10 years old. I have raised 2 children who are now healthy adults. I have looked after many nephews and nieces and children of friends. I have cared for a special needs child for a week at a time in my home as a respite carer for friends when they holiday. Now that my family is grown, I enjoy doing babysitting and looking after children and also volunteering in the classroom at a local primary school. I have my Certificate III in Early Childhod Education and Care and I am immunised against childhood diseases and double vaccinated for covid-19.
