Kimzey - 35yrs

Hi there! I’m a 35 year old social worker with over 10 years of experience working with children. Kids love my pink hair and my bubbly, playful personality! I have worked with all ages, but I specialise in early childhood. I was a professional nanny before my Masters of Social Work, and I've also taught English and led after-school programs in France. Most recently I have worked in a residential mental health setting where mothers can stay with their children, and in out-of-home-care for teens under Child Protection orders. I'm looking for a break from my high-acuity cases and want to get back to having fun with kids! :) I love the energy children bring and I enjoy being very active with the children in my care, whether that's getting out and about to explore or doing puzzles and reading at home. Their delight in simple things inspires me to view the world with the same amount of wonder, and I love watching their personalities unfold as they grow. I am passionate about teaching emotional regulation, and my philosophy is based on positive parenting; I take a very gentle but firm approach and believe in compassion, understanding, and reasoning above all. I like to focus on child-led learning and activities, and try to nurture their development through their existing interests. I’m currently fully available for babysitting or casual/short-term nannying. I have several written references available, along with three referees that you may contact.
