Hi! I’m Lisa 👋 If you’re looking for someone who will genuinely engage with your kids, get involved and make their time together feel fun and meaningful, I’d love to hear from you! I’m a mum of three (one adult and two teens, so they are all independent now), so I’ve had plenty of hands-on experience navigating the beautiful (and sometimes chaotic!) world of children and teenagers. I also bring many years of professional experience working with people and families through my counselling work, where patience, empathy, communication and connection are at the heart of what I do. In addition to this, I also have experience in support work, assisting people with day-to-day living, emotional wellbeing, routines, and building confidence and independence. This has strengthened my ability to be calm under pressure, adaptable, and truly present with the people I support—meeting them where they’re at and responding to their individual needs with care and respect. I’m naturally warm, energetic and proactive, and I’m not really a “sit on my phone while the kids entertain themselves” kind of person! I love getting outside, exploring nature, heading to the beach, cooking, creating, doing arts and crafts, playing games, reading, baking or simply finding something fun to do together. Childcare Experience
I’ve spent a large part of my life caring for children — firstly raising my own three children, and now enjoying the next stage as they’ve grown into an adult and two teenagers. My experience has given me a good understanding of the practical side of childcare: keeping routines running smoothly, preparing meals, getting everyone where they need to be, helping with homework, managing different personalities and making sure children feel secure and cared for. I’ve also worked professionally in counselling and support work, which has given me additional experience supporting children, teenagers and families with different needs. I’m comfortable taking responsibility, thinking on my feet and adapting to whatever the day brings. I also run my own counselling practice, which gives me the flexibility to set my own hours. This means I can be quite flexible and available around the times that work best for your family — whether that’s school drop-offs and pick-ups, regular weekly care or occasional help I’m someone who genuinely enjoys being involved with kids rather than simply supervising them. I love finding out what interests them and joining them in it — whether that’s a game, a creative project, an adventure outside or just having a good chat. I bring a combination of real-life parenting experience, professional people skills and a genuine enjoyment of children, and I’d love the opportunity to bring that into a family’s home. I hold a current Working With Children Check, First Aid & CPR certification and National Police Check, and I have a full driver’s licence and reliable transport.
