Hi! My name is Sarah, I’m 24 years old and currently living in Newcastle after moving here from a small country town to pursue my teaching career. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education and currently work four days a week in a nursery room at a long day care service, alongside casual teaching in primary schools one day a week. Through both my work and personal experience, I have cared for children from 0–12 years old. I have always loved working with children and began babysitting for friends and family from a young age. I also previously worked as a dance teacher, which helped me build strong connections with children while creating fun, engaging, and supportive environments. I would describe myself as bubbly, kind, caring, reliable, and fun-loving. I pride myself on being extremely punctual, flexible, and cooperative, and I genuinely enjoy helping children feel safe, happy, and comfortable. Outside of work, I love long walks, dancing, trying new food places, and spending time with family and friends. I currently hold my First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis training, and Working With Children Check (WWCC). I’m mainly looking for occasional weekend and Friday night babysitting work and would love the opportunity to support your family!
I have worked in childcare for almost 3 years and studied for 5 years to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education. Throughout this time, I have gained experience working with children from 0–12 years old across a variety of educational settings. I have worked as a Lead Educator within nursery rooms, supporting babies through their earliest stages of development, as well as an Assistant Educator within preschool spaces. I have also held a 2IC position, where I supported with room leadership, daily operations, programming, and building strong relationships with families and children. Alongside my childcare experience, I also work casually as a primary school teacher and have completed extensive practical placements throughout my university degree. Working with children is something I am truly passionate about. I absolutely love watching children learn, grow, and develop confidence within themselves. Supporting children as they explore the world around them and seeing their curious minds discover new things is such a rewarding part of my career. I value building warm, trusting, and meaningful relationships with children and families and pride myself on creating environments where children feel safe, supported, and happy.
