Hi parents! My name is Mara, and I’m originally from Brazil. I work as a paediatrician and have been caring for children and their families for over 14 years. My husband and I lived in Melbourne a few years ago, and we recently returned to Australia while he studies here. I’m also studying English, and during my free time I’d love to do what I enjoy most—looking after children. Caring for kids has always been much more than just my profession. I genuinely enjoy spending time with them, helping them learn, play, feel safe, and have fun. I’m calm, patient, kind, reliable, and responsible, and I always do my best to make both children and parents feel comfortable and supported. "Mara was amazing with the kids and lovely to talk to. Our family have never used an outside babysitter before, and I needed to work from home for a few hours. Mara came into our home and immediately connected with the kids. I hovered for a little while, until the toddler told me "bye bye" and kicked me out of the room so they could play. A couple of hours later, she even got him to sleep! She played joyously with the preschooler - wearing masks and dress-ups and doing puzzles. Mara is a pediatrician in her home country and has come to Melbourne to progress her English and study a mental health postgrad. I'm astounded that we were lucky enough to have someone with her skills and knowledge look after the kids. She's a gem."

As I describe in my profile I am in Australia to studying English, although in my country I worked as a paediatrician, so I am used to caring my friend’s and family’s children, besides looking after my patients. I am marriage and don’t have a child yet, so I’m keen on spending my free time helping people taking care of their precious toddlers. Since my friends and cousins started having babies, I became a first-class babysitter to them. I have over 3 years of experience as a babysitter and over 7 years as a paediatrician.
