What is Juggle Street?

Juggle Street is a neighbourhood network providing busy families access to trusted, local helpers including babysitters, nannies, au pairs and home tutors. When parents and helpers have competed their profiles, they can connect, chat online and meet face-to-face if they wish. Juggle Street Pty Ltd is a wholly owned Australian company based in Sydney.

Pricing & Payments

There are no pre-determined prices, or fixed hourly rates for jobs on Juggle Street. Parents set the price they are willing to pay for each job, and post it to one or many of their local helpers. The helpers decide if the job is ‘worth it’ and apply or decline. Helpers get paid cash or via bank transfer by the family at the end of each job. Benefits of Having a primary school Tutor

  • Avoid being left behind in the classroom by doing revision with a tutor. This can ensure your child is grasping the curriculum and has the support to succeed.
  • Working with a tutor will give your child the chance to ask questions and not feel stupid in front of their peers in class.
  • Your child will gain one-on one attention. In a busy classroom it can be hard to get individual attention.
  • Tutors can customise lessons and activities just for your child so that they are receiving an individualised learning experience that he or she wouldn’t get in the classroom.
  • Tutoring will prepare your child for tests and work on specific problem areas.
  • Tutoring can provide an environment free of distractions and disruptions, so they can focus on their learning without other students around.

Qualities of a good primary school Tutor

  • A tutor who has an energetic and enthusiastic nature will motivate your child throughout their lessons.
  • A good tutor will listen to the needs of their student and fully understand where they are getting stuck and need help. They should ask questions if it’s not clear where the stumbling blocks are. Tutoring sessions are an opportunity for their students to express how they feel and raise any concerns or worries that they may be feeling in the classroom
  • Tutors should adapt their lessons and individualise their approach to meet the specific needs of their students. The tutor should re-evaluate the student’s objectives as they progress.
  • Successful tutors will incorporate the child’s interests into their learning. If the student is passionate about soccer, then the tutor can come up with writing exercises based on soccer topics.
  • A good tutor should be patient as they may have to repeatedly explain material to their student.
  • It’s really important for your tutor to be punctual and bring all the necessary work needed for their lessons.
  • A successful tutor will build rapport with their students and share their own experiences to create support and trust.

Develop a love of learning

All it takes is one problem they don’t understand for a child to lose confidence and fall behind. Tutoring can help children develop a love of learning. Having good tutor can help your child build their confidence and gain excitement by being able to work out a problem or enjoy tackling new concepts. This is also an opportunity for your child to connect with another role-model and create a bond with someone who is dedicated to helping them learn.

  • It can help speed the development of reading skills and speech
  • It can assist children to focus their attention for long periods.

Studying music requires a high level of precision in auditory processing. Being nearly in tune is not good enough. Musically trained children are better able to distinguish small details of speech, leading to improved reading, better comprehension and a greater ability to interpret what others are saying.

Music lessons give children a powerful means to express themselves and let their creativity run wild. Musically trained children are likely to develop strong cognitive and social abilities.

Tutor Resources
Tutor Resources

There never seems to be a middle ground. Either you have hundreds of resources at your fingertips and can’t possibly choose which one to use, or you find it incredibly hard to get your hands on even basic resources. How can we find and choose the best resources for what we need?

Making a First Impression
Making a First Impression

It goes without saying that as a new tutor, you’ll want to make a good impression and see academic improvement in your students. However, wanting to be an effective tutor is not the same as having experience. New tutors without experience tend to make the same mistakes when they start out.

Choosing the Right Tutor
Choosing the Right Tutor

If you are on the hunt for a private tutor, you’re probably motivated by one of two main reasons (though there are others). You’re concerned that your child is under-performing. You are worried that your child will be ‘left behind’ in today’s increasingly competitive educational landscape.
