Hi my name is Esmee, I am a 20 year old dutch girl that travelled all through Australia for over a year. I started my Australia adventure as an au pair close to Brisbane and I would love to pick that up again. I have been babysitting back home since I was 14 years old, during the day and also at nights. I have babysat multiple ages ranging from a baby of just a few months to almost teenagers/high schoolers. I have done extra English at my school that made me a near native speaker in English, so communication with the kids and the parents would be no problem for me! Childcare Experience
I have been babysitting since I was 14 years old. It started with just night sitting, including making dinner and putting the kids to bed. Later on I also looked after children during the day, usually morning and afternoon shifts. I would be most comfortable having no more than 3 kids to look after, as I have not experienced bigger groups on my own. I have done day babysitting for about 6 children, but that was together with my sister. When I was an au pair in Brisbane I used to help out with basic house chores as well. I have babysat a different range of ages going from a baby to a middle schooler. I am very confident in my skills, because of my experience.
Tutoring Experience
When babysitting I used to help the kids as well with their homework. I know the importance of letting the children think on their own and the importance of encouragement so they can get confident in their own skills. I don’t have that much experience in paid tutoring, but I used to help my siblings and the kids I babysat with their more difficult homework. I took extra English in school, so communication and understanding the material of the homework would be no problem for me.
