Hello parents! I am an Irish primary school teacher with years of experience working with children in various settings. These include teaching in the classroom, running after school clubs, organizing activities at multiple summer camps, and providing long-term babysitting and child-minding services over the past 7 years. These experiences have equipped me with the skills necessary to create engaging, fun and educational experiences for children of all ages. Childcare Experience
As a primary school teacher with a Masters degree in Education, I have worked with and taught children of all ages from 4-12 years. My most recent teaching position in Ireland was teaching a class of 23 Senior Infants (5-6 year olds). I have taught in diverse and challenging environments - my top priority always being creating meaningful relationships with the children in my care. I ran and organised after school clubs in my previous school in Ireland for the past two years. This included support with homework and planning sports activities chosen by the children such as soccer, hockey, tennis and bench ball. I have been involved in various summer camps over the past few years in both Ireland and abroad. I worked as a camp monitor in Spain, responsible for a group of 15 girls aged 11-12. Main roles included acting as a surrogate parents to the campers, responsible for overall supervision, ensuring their wellbeing and safety at all times whilst learning and having fun. I have a great deal of experience in both short and long-term babysitting and child-minding. I have worked closely with a family and cared for their two children, a boy and a girl, for the past 8 years. Duties included staying in the family home, getting the children ready each day, providing meals and helping with homework. Caring for these children and watching them grow throughout the years has been an absolute pleasure. I have also taught children Irish Dancing over the years and volunteered as an assistant soccer coach in my local club. Teaching children new skills and creating a fun environment where they engage in developing their physical and social skills.
Tutoring Experience
I graduated from Dublin City University with a First-Class Honours in the Masters of Education, Primary Teaching degree in 2021. I have worked in various primary schools across Ireland, including a diverse and active school in Dublin City. My most recent teaching position in Ireland was teaching a class of 23 Senior Infants (5-6 year olds). As a teacher, my top priority is creating meaningful relationships with the children in my care. I pride myself on having established strong relationships within the school communities as a whole in which I have worked. I also have experience working as a learning support teacher and special education teacher. My academic qualifications allow me to have a wide range of knowledge across the whole primary curriculum. My special interests lie in the areas of literacy, physical education, science and mindfulness.
