Hi Mums and Dads! I’m Kerrie, I have a psychology degree & and a masters degree in childhood psychology and I hope to be a childhood psychologist in the future. I have lots and lots of experience with kids from birth to 18 with all different needs - ASD, ADHD, mental health, severe behaviour, learning disabilities, medical needs and everything in between! (Trust me, there is nothing I haven’t seen!) I look forward to meeting you and most importantly your kids!
I have extensive knowledge and experience with special needs. I have worked with kids with a range of needs aged 0-18 with needs like ASD, Downs Syndrome, Global Developmental Delay, ADHD, mental health issues and so much more! In the UK, I worked in the Education Authority (government body) in the department for special educational needs so I know everything there is to know.
I have been working with kids for approximately 10 years. I have volunteered with local charities, I have worked with government bodies, and I have done my masters degree in childhood psychology. Most of my experience is with special educational needs, and I have also done a lot of working with supporting parents. The most rewarding thing about working with children is seeing them reach their goals and becoming more confident in themselves, and most importantly seeing them happy.
I have worked in schools and in the home where I created fun educational tasks to improve learning. I have exquisite experience involving completing educational interventions (particularly with kids in nursery) to boost key skills like attention and listening, relationship building and general education (numeracy, literacy, reading etc). I have also worked with primary and high school kids to help them with homework and helping them understand what is being taught in a way they can fully understand. All of the kids I have worked with have excelled in their own individual ways.
