Hello my name is Ailbhe (Alva). I have recently moved to Sydney from Ireland. My previous employment back in Ireland has been working in Education where I worked as a Teacher Aide working with children with Autism and children of varying disabilities between the ages of 4-12. I am also a highly qualified and passionate music teacher where I taught piano and violin to children between the ages of 6-18 years of age. I started playing violin at the age of 4 and piano at the age of 5. I completed all grades in both instruments and also received a performance diploma in violin back in 2018. I have always had a passion playing classical music where I have played and travelled with a number of different orchestras to countries such as Abu Dhabi, Edinburgh, Italy and France. I am a very friendly and caring individual. Coming from a family of 6 I have always been very family orientated. I have 3 sisters, 2 which are older and one younger. I also have an adoring 2 year old niece who I have always cared for back in Ireland, so I am very confident with changing nappies, play dates, feeding, putting to bed and plenty of entertainment! I have also been granted my WWC so I am available to start work immediately☺️

Special Needs Experience
Previously worked with children with Autism for 2 years between the ages of 4-12. This involved working with children with Autism and of varying Intellectual disabilities through different communication methods (PECS, social stories, TEACCH, work stations, visual timetable, behavior plans). Daily tasks included working through each child’s daily schedule while overcoming challenging behaviors through patience and positive reinforcement techniques. Logging daily documentation to keep track of child’s progress. Guiding and assisting the child in their education. Always adapting in order to meet their needs such as verbal/visual prompts, sensory breaks. Throughout the academic year, I was always completing CPD (Continuing Professional Development) courses to further expand my professional and personal development in this area.

3 years childcare experience. Have always enjoyed and had a passion working in working with children of various different ages.
Tutoring Experience
Teaching music to children from 6-18 years of age. This involved making individual lesson plans for each student of varying abilities. Highly qualified pianist and violinist. Also have experience in primary education working as a Special Needs Assistant. Guiding and assisting the child in the class, dealing with challenging behaviors, preparing materials for the class and taking students out on movement breaks.
