Hello! I’m a teacher from Ireland with six years of experience in education. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students of various ages and backgrounds, which has been incredibly rewarding. In addition to teaching, I’ve spent two summers working as a nanny in the United States, which gave me the chance to explore a different culture while caring for children. I've also dabbled in a few other roles along the way, all of which have shaped who I am today. I’m passionate about learning and helping others grow, and I look forward to getting to know more people in this community.
As part of my teaching degree at Mary Immaculate College, I have received specialized training in special needs education. This has given me a strong foundation in understanding the diverse learning needs of students. Throughout my studies, I have learned to adapt lesson plans to accommodate a wide range of learning styles and abilities. The training has covered various aspects, such as creating inclusive classroom environments, managing behavior, and using differentiated teaching strategies. I’ve also gained valuable skills in collaborating with special education professionals to support students with a variety of needs, including those with autism, dyslexia, and other physical or cognitive challenges. This experience has equipped me with the tools to ensure that all students, regardless of their individual challenges, can thrive in the classroom.
I’ve been looking after children for several years, both as a primary teacher and through nannying roles. As a teacher, I have experience working with primary-aged children, which has allowed me to develop strong skills in engaging with and supporting young learners. In addition to my teaching experience, I’ve also worked as a nanny, where I had the opportunity to care for children ranging from newborns to teenagers. This wide range of ages has made me comfortable and adaptable in looking after children at different stages of development, and I genuinely enjoy working with children of all ages. The most rewarding aspect of childcare for me is seeing the growth and development of children, both academically and personally. It's incredibly fulfilling to witness their progress, whether it's a child mastering a new skill, gaining confidence, or simply seeing their unique personalities shine through. I also find it deeply satisfying to know that I play a part in their journey, whether through teaching, providing care, or offering support during challenging moments. Building meaningful relationships with children and knowing that I’ve made a positive impact on their lives is what makes childcare so rewarding for me.
I began tutoring during my training to become a primary teacher, and it’s something I’ve continued to do ever since. Over the years, I’ve worked with students of various ages, helping them improve their skills and build confidence in their learning. My passion for supporting others in their educational journey has only grown stronger. In addition to my teaching experience, I hold a Master's in Education, which has further deepened my understanding of educational theories and practices. I also have a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification, which has allowed me to expand my teaching capabilities and work with students from diverse backgrounds, particularly in English language learning. These qualifications, combined with my tutoring experience, have given me a well-rounded approach to teaching and helping students succeed.
