Special Needs Experience
I have 4 years experience with children of special needs in schools and have taught special needs classes as part of my daily work. Although I have no formal qualifications in the area I have attended a lot of professional training in the area ans have a lot of experience.
Childcare Experience
I have been looking after children on a local basis back home in Ireland since I turned 18. In my spare time I have always cared for younger family members and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. What I find rewarding about it is having fun with the kids and seeing them enjoy themselves in different activities and ways. I also love seeing a child develop at young ages as it is a fascinating and rewarding process to be a part of. I am also comfortable with both very young children right up to late teens as I have experience with both in childcare and teaching. I have worked in kindergarten classes and primary classes in Spain as well as secondary school in the uk and Ireland. Also in Spain I worked for a year in a private English academy with kids from 3-18 and throughly enjoyed working with all these age groups.
Tutoring Experience
I have been tutoring both Spanish and English for the last 10 years and I have a huge passion for languages particularly. Before teaching, I studied Spanish and history in Ireland in university. Because of this I taught exam year students in one to one tutoring for 3 years and loved every moment of this especially when I got to prepare students to do very well in their exams. I have continued tutoring Spanish outside of my school hours since then. I have taught English as a tutor in Spain for a year and a half and also thoroughly enjoyed that. It was similar to my Spanish tutoring but here I tutored people of all ages and levels. It was an incredibly rewarding experience as I taught absolute beginner adults or kids, or even advanced learners preparing for key exams. Both these groups had challenges and I loved working together with the students to tackle them and found great satisfaction in watching their developments.
