Hello! I’m from Ireland and have been nannying in Eastern Suburbs/ CBD since I arrived in Sydney last year. I am a qualified primary school teacher of 5 yrs.I’ve a certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills- so I love having fun and learning/ teaching through play. "We would highly recommend Ciara to other parents. Our 14-month-old son usually takes a little time to warm up to new people (covid baby), but he warmed up straightaway to her. Her calm persona made him feel safe, and after the initial meeting, they continue to get on like a house on fire with Myles feeling comfortable being his boisterous self. Ciara strikes a great balance between letting him run around, playing in a way that helps his development (drawing and building blocks), reading, and getting him out to the park for walks and playtime. We're not OCD, but when we finish work, we really appreciate that our apartment is always clean. Ciara is very happy preparing Myles's lunches and has done food prep for his evening meals which has been a lifesaver for us when she's done stuff like making pasta, boiling potatoes for mash, or steaming fish etc. It's been so great to be able to leave our son with someone who we trust absolutely to make sure our son has everything he needs to thrive."

I taught in numerous special education schools, with children ranging in age from 5-18. I’ve facilitated summer camps for children with needs.

Childcare Experience

I’ve been a teacher for 5 years now. I’ve worked mainly with ages 5-12. I love teaching and caring for children. I am dependable, trustworthy and honest. I’ve also babysat for families back home in the past. Responsibilities included collecting from school, organising dinner, getting homework complete, games and bedtime routine. I’ve also tutored 1:1 after school hours with children in numerous subject areas. I’m planning to teach while in Sydney, but I’m looking for work while the schools are on their holidays.

Tutoring Experience

I’ve tutored both primary and secondary school children in various subject areas. This work was 1:1, face to face, in their homes. I loved it and loved seeing improvements from week to week. I also enjoyed building a rapport with the children I worked with. Additionally, I specialised in Language and Literacy in college- so I’m passionate about this subject area and in particular, helping children who are struggling.
