Hi! I'm Lucy and I have been working with children for nearly 4 years now! I was in year 11 of high school when I started and immediately fell in love with this job. After a couple years, my family and I decided to move back to Melbourne as its our hometown. I began studying with Gowrie Victoria and completed my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education. I have been working full time as an educator in a kinder room since the beginning of 2022 but I've gone down to working 4 days now! Being an educator has been an incredibly rewarding experience and taught me so much. I also have lots of experience working with neurodiverse children. I tutor primary school aged children a couple times a week to work on their homework!

Childcare Experience
I’ve worked with children in a primary school and kinder setting for about 4 years now. Before that I did lots of nannying and babysitting so in total it’s been about 5-6 years! After lots of moving around I’ve finally found a service that I love where I’ve been working with kinder aged children for the last year and a half. While I’ve done most work with children 2-10, I’m also very comfortable working with children above 12 months and over 10 years. The most rewarding thing for me about this job is being able to shape the lives of young people. Children have the most amazing ways of being and viewing the world and I think that’s so special.
Tutoring Experience
I first started tutoring in year 10, teaching primary school children Chinese (I don’t know too much now though). However for quite some time I have worked closely with the primary school attached to the service I work at. I spend about 2 hours a week tutoring children from years 1-5 with literacy and the arts. I also spent 2 years working with prep children, teaching basic literacy and numeracy skills.
