Hello families! My name is Rachel and I moved to Sydney from Ireland almost two years ago now. I am a fully qualified primary school teacher with 7 years experience to date. Although I grew up with only two siblings, our family always felt much larger. My Mom worked in childcare which meant we had lots of little bodies running around our house every day! I think this is what inspired me to work with children myself. I am available for babysitting, tutoring and childcare occasionally. Special Needs Experience
As part of my work as a primary school teacher, I have gained much experience working with children with special needs. For one academic year, I was employed as a learning support teacher and worked closely with children with complex additional needs such as dyslexia, EAL, ADHD, ASD and behavioral issues.
Childcare Experience
I often shared the responsibilities to look after children at home with my Mom and I started babysitting on my own at the age of 16. Now, I have 7 years experience of teaching children of primary school age. I am comfortable with children of all ages and have taught year groups from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Tutoring Experience
I have been working as a fully qualified primary school teacher for 7 years now. For two summers, I was employed by the education department in Ireland to tutor students who had fallen behind as a result of the Covid pandemic.
