Hi everyone! I’m Deirdre and I’m a speech pathologist who absolutely loves working with children. I am based in the eastern suburbs and open to tutoring and casual baby sitting too. I have experience in taking care of babies right up to tutoring 18 year olds.

Special Needs Experience

Childcare Experience
I have looked after a number of children in the Eastern suburbs as a nanny and casual babysitting. I also work part time as a speech pathologist working with babies up to 18 year olds and everything inbetween.
Tutoring Experience
I tutor a wide range of children including those requiring speech and language support . I work on reading comprehension, expressive language and narrative skills, figurative language all based on the Australian curriculum and tailored to the child’s unique learning needs. I work extensively online and in person to help children access their learning and employ a multi sensory approach to aid memory and recall. Working memory is a huge part of a child’s success in learning and multiple strategies for aiding memory is essential for school progression.
