Hi! I’m a high school teacher, who is about to be on holidays for a few weeks! I have worked with a range of ages, from littles (daycare), to primary-aged, and more recently, high schoolers. I have a daughter, but she is in daycare and so I will have a lot of spare time! I don’t rely on screens to entertain kids, I believe in engaging them with play! I’m happy to take them out and about, or be in your home. So if you’re looking for someone to keep your kids busy over the school holidays - I’m your person! Let me know if this sounds like a good fit for your family! Deb
I worked at a centre for children with autism, and have also had some training in my career as a teacher.
I have been looking after children of varying ages since around 2012. I started with babysitting for family friends (kids aged ~8 months to 11 years) when I was in high school, and then have continued through looking after family members, working at a childcare centre, as well as now caring for my own daughter. I also have gained experience with older kids through my job as a teacher. I find working with kids to be really enjoyable. I particularly love getting them outside and into nature, where we can play imaginative games or explore the natural world. Each kid has their own ideas though - so I’m happy to go with the flow based on their interests!
I am most passionate about STEM subjects, as this is my main background. I have experience in maths and science, and have done a bit of coding through my work. That said, I have also completed training for the Queensland Ready Reading Program and would be happy to help with that too! In terms of teaching experience, I am in my second year of teaching. I have taught year 7 maths, and year 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 science.
