Seeking a Nanny position Mon & Tuesdays Little Forest Folk Little Forest Folk is a child care, babysitting, occasional care and drop and go playgroup service that offers children to be a part of a home care nest, with the opportunity to grow with the wonder of nature and play and with each other. I also offer one on one babysitting in your or ny home on select days. We are a heart-based, holistic service located in Boronia, at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges. I provide a fun, nature-based home environment, where children’s senses are nurtured and we celebrate the early years of childhood. Children learn about the world and about being with other humans and are guided by rhythms of unstructured free play and experiences. The home hub is an inclusive place where we value happiness, wellness, curiosity, openness, beauty, acceptance, creativity, open-ended play and imagination, where all children, of all spices are welcomed with love and we explore in a state of magic, joy & wonder together. The home residents consist of myself (Kate) solo Mama, Reishi (attending primary school), and wildlings Alchemy (4 years) and Florence (nearly 2 years). We have dedicated indoor and outdoor play rooms and a large grassy backyard to explore. I can care for your children on Sun, Mon and Tuesdays at my home or yours without my children or they can join me in my home with my children from Wed - Sat. Other mother's helper duties are available on request. These may include tasks such as food prep, dog walking, newborn care, deliveries, running errands or cleaning & organisation. What do we do in a daily session? Children are invited to participate in a yarning circle style decision-making about what they would like to do for the day. The daily sessions may include gathering times together (storytelling, puppetry, music, poetry, finger gestures, song), Arts & crafts (drawing, painting, recycled junk art, beeswax modelling, weaving, clay) and dance movement. We love loose parts and junk art! The focus is to develop the children’s creativity by leaving them free to play/act from their own inner impulse. In support of this, the resources offered are primarily for creative open-ended play and can be used for dramatic, sensory and small world play experiences. Our resources are mostly made from raw materials for play where anything can be created and then reformed as desired. Outdoor forest and park play adventures in the Little Forest Folk transport van are regular excursions. Nature play allows children to notice the weather of the day, of the season and where they are, thus becoming in touch with the land and connecting with the universe around them and fostering a sense of belonging to country. We visit Wicks Reserve, Doongalla Picnic Ground and Time Neville Arboretum close by and many beautiful, natural areas around the hills. There are healthy snacks provided to share and breathing in times of independent play, quieter nooks, meditation, sound therapy, singing bowls, Yoga, breathwork and rest. Practical activities such as baking, watering plants, sweeping, mending and gardening to be imitated are also weaved throughout the daily happenings. We are currently preparing a raised bed veggie garden. As a mum I know how hard it can be to leave your child with someone else. I'm here to welcome your family into our home so that when you leave you feel comfortable knowing that they are having an amazing time! I have a First Aid certificate, including asthma & anaphylaxis and current police & working with children checks.
