Hey families. I have been living in Australia for 5 years now. Coming from Ireland, I am lucky to have gained experience in working with children from across the ages from 6 weeks old up to aged 12. My main experience was working in the Toddler Room as an Assistant building myself up to become a room leader. My role as included supervision and care of children, this also included children with disabilities, learning difficulties and behavioural issues. I helped plan for and organised a safe, stimulating play environment which encouraged children to explore and become successful learners. My Key Worker duties involved monthly observations and documenting each child's individual learning and progress in their Learning Portfolios. Other important aspects of my role included nappies and toilet training, supervision at meal times and working in close partnership with parents. From building close relationships with children and their families, I enjoyed regular work in the evenings and at the weekend in the families homes.
