Hello there mums and dads! Hope you're having a nice day! Next, I'll tell you a bit about myself: I have a Latin American background and I am a native Spanish speaker. I've been here in Melbourne since September 2019. I have experience caring for children from 1 year of age up to teenagers. I am the youngest child of 5! All grown-ups with their own families (married and with children) so yes, I am already an auntie of 7! Taking care of some of my nephews and nieces back home and working as AU-PAIR and babysitter here in Melbourne has opened a great path in my life about this wonderful job with these amazing little people by taking care of them, having some company, and sharing life. As you might think... I am a grown-up woman, with my moral and ethical values defined; regardless, I still have some of those important aspects we had when we're kids, which are quite important when sharing life with kids, such as a young and funny spirit, a creative and easy-going personality and a great understanding and empathy towards people and especially the little one's. So far... I guess this is all I can tell you! If you would like to reach me, I'll be looking for you!
My experience looking after children started about 10 years ago when my nephew was born, and I was out on duty from day one! My sister allowed me to take care of him after his first few months of life. Then, his little sister was born and I had the same chances to look after her. Since then, I've been part of their upbringing: picking them up from childcare and school, spending time together after their studies, escorting them to parties and events and evenings when their parents were out. When moved to Australia, my first job was supervising kids at an amusements company that creates events such as fairs and carnivals. Then, I had my first experience as a live-in, which was since the beginning of 2021 till the end of February 2022. Here I looked after one beautiful girl of two and a half yo, from breakfast till late afternoon. During my time with her, I also worked as a Spanish teaching assistant. At the beginning of this, I babysit with three families, all located in this area. With one of them, I was looking after 3 siblings aged 4,6 and 9; with the second one, I was looking for two kids aged 9 and 13 and with the last family, I was looking for 2 siblings aged 4 and 7... these last ones with after-school care. Occasionally I used to take care once or twice per week of a little girl, according to her parent's needs in the afternoon or at night time. What we do is play a bit before dinner, then we had a refreshing bath, clean her teeth; then we head to bed and read some stories together before she falls asleep.
