Hi My name is Barbara; although to many families, I’m know as ‘Nanny Barbs.’ I am an Australian Diploma Qualified Career Nanny with an early childhood teacher background. I’ve worked many years in childcare centres, before and after school facilities, as well as run my own Babysitting and Nannying business. I have over 25 years experience with children of all ages; from newborn 4 days old to 13 yrs of age. I have supported many families of various make ups, this include twins (multiples) and Premature Babies as well. Diploma of children services First aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis NSW Working with children check QLD Blue card National Police Check I also have obtained certificates in many short courses as well to further develop my knowledge in helping care for your precious children. I live in Varsity Lakes QLD though I do service a 20 km Radius. I have my own reliable 7 seater car and hold a heavy vehicle LR license, as I have Driven buses. I also have multiple different aged car seats installed, in my own car incase needed. 2x rear or forward facing up to 4yrs and a 12m -8+yrs 5 point harness / booster seat. Plus additional 2 normal back seats for those out of a car restraints. All restraints are always cleaned and sanitised after every use. A child’s Health and safety is always my number one priority. As well as my own. For additional peace of mind, I am fully Vaccinated against all childhood illnesses and last vaccine update of all was in 2016 and most recent Covid 19 + Boosters. I love taking children that are in my care out on adventures and excursions. As I feel there is so much more for children to learn and experience while outdoors exploring our surroundings. Though this is all depending on the child/ren’s age/s and the current weather of the day of course, but neither fear Nanny Barbs always has a plan B for unexpected weather days. My car is always full with additional fun, educational activities and games that are all age appropriate for the children currently in my care. Whilst caring for children, safety is my number one priority, no matter, where we go or what we do. One of my sayings I go by is “Your kids are my kids when in my care“. This means, I will care for them, educate them, spoil and respect them and help raise them just as if their parents would. As I believe I am hired to be a close reflection of you while you’re not present. Being a reflection also helps keep the children in the same routine as they would when with their parents. Though if new methods need to be implemented to help improve the child’s routine and behaviour. Id be more than happy to help bring that to life. This will be discussed with parents and actioned as agreed between us or if permission is granted from parents upon their departure for me to implement what is needed I shall do that. My hours are often flexible and are always moulded differently to suit each family; as to me, each family is unique and operates in there own special ways. My hourly rate are as follows Babysitting from $38/hr up to 2 children + $3 per additional child capped at 6 children for safety purposes. Nannying is from $41/hr. (Pending tasks and how many children in my care) and Public holidays is from $50/hr for babysitting and $55 for nannying up to 2 children. Though the services i provide are worth every cent if not more than the hourly rate you’ll be paying. I have had experience with many children at all times of the day, whether it be mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnight or even that extra pair of hands as you travel around the world, weather it be for business or personal travel. (I have traveled to many different destinations before, so my passport is in date and ready to go.) As a qualified educator, I always do my best to try and implement many early childhood learning strategies using the learning through play method, Education is an important aspect of my business and a child’s life. The first 5 years are the most important as this is when children are like sponges to water, they absorb all the knowledge shown and given to them. At times Children wouldn’t even know they’re learning as it’s all done through fun activities and play. A child’s developmental skills is very important, as it is the foundation that helps them grow and learn In life.
