Hello mums and dads! I grew up in a big family with 3 brothers and sisters. My extended family is massive so I've always had little bubs and kiddies close by who I've helped to babysit on the regular. I love children and now work a 9-5 as a therapist in early childhood intervention with children with autism and developmental delays. I get to play with children on a daily basis so it barely feels like work to me As well, I am a positive behaviour support practitioner where I support children with behavioural concerns. I am so passionate about working with children and feel that I can bring my life as well as my professional skills and experience in to baby sitting. Putting in hours working with children barely feels like work at all!
I currently work as a therapist for children with autism and developmental delays. In my role I help children with autism and developmental delays progress in areas of concern. I work on a 1-1 basis with kiddies to aid in upskilling in areas such as communication, joint attention and social skills. As well, I work as a positive behaviour support practitioner, supporting children with challenging behaviours.
Although I have no formal qualifications in childcare, I have been working with children for over a year in a professional setting. Within my job, we have one child for upwards of 3 hours where we play care for and play with a child. As well, we make sure to feed and change the children as needed. In my past I have helped out in taking care of my friends and families children in the evenings where I would feed them dinner, change them as needed, and put them to sleep.
