Hello mums, dads and carers! I have been working with young people in different settings for the past 4 years. I began my career with the North Eastern Community Assistance Program where I delivered Christmas relief for families. I eventually started volunteering in the school that shared the site with NECAP. I continued working in an education settings both with foster children through the YMCA outdoor education program and as a Student Support Officer across 4 schools. I have worked with students aging from 4-17 and don't particularly prefer any age group over others. I hope to hear from you soon and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask :)
I have been an SSO working with children with disabilities for the past 3 years. I have worked with children with Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global delays and some hearing and vision impaired students.
I have been working in and around schools for close the 6 years. I began working with children at schools while I volunteered with the North East Community Assistance Program. I continued this in my adult life by working with foster children with the YMCA outdoor education program and across multiple school sites. Due to my experience I don't really have a preference for the age groups that I work with. I have comfortably worked with children ranging from 5 years old to 17 years old.
I am currently close to finishing my 2nd year placement for my Education (Honour) degree. I have worked one on one with children who required extra support for several years.
