Hi, I’m 27 years old and I am a qualified primary school teacher with 5 years experience working in Dublin, Ireland. I have been teaching in Melbourne since the start of March and am looking to do some child minding on the weekends. I love sports and coached teams in my school in Ireland, I ran an after school Fun&Games club and I also worked in summer camps in July. For a year, I tutored 3 students (year 5 and 6) in mathematics to assist them with difficulties they were having with the curriculum. I love working with and looking after children. I’m reliable, organised and caring.

Special Needs Experience

Working with children with special needs in the classroom over the last 5 years and helping them with school work as well as social situations and day to day tasks.

Childcare Experience

I did childminding throughout college for various families for children between the ages of 2 and 8. I qualified as a primary school teacher in 2018 so I have a lot of experience working with children, caring for them and looking after them. I also know how to keep children entertained and have a bit of fun. I love working with children, they have great imaginations and they tell you such interesting facts and stories.

Tutoring Experience

I tutored a child in year 5 for 1 year in English and two children in year 5 last year in mathematics. The curriculum in Ireland is similar to the curriculum in Australia. I spoke to parents prior to starting tutoring to figure out what their child needed the most support with and then I planned each tutoring session based on having a starting point, teaching the topic so the child has a better understanding, practising questions and then providing appropriate challenges for the child to complete in order to see progress in their learning.
