Hi parents and guardians! My name is Sharni Lee, I am a Student Learning Support Officer at inner west primary schools and am passionate about working with children who require additional needs. I also work with kids in the film industry on set. I am very creative and high energy and great at multitasking.
I have personal experience growing up with a sibling with Asperger’s Syndrome, and professional experience working for the Department of Education in Learning Support; primarily with children with disabilities.
I am the eldest of three children and have experience in childminding from my early teens. I also have lots of experience working in Learning Support in a Primary School. I am passionate about kids, particularly children with disabilities. I have experience working with children with ASD, ODD and ADHD. My philosophy is building trust and respect with the kids and parents that I work with.
Have worked in Learning Support for the Department of Education. This job consisted mostly of being a constant in the classroom, a one on one mentor and support for students with disabilities and assistant to the teacher. My focus is building trust and respect with students and developing strategies, games and activities to support their learning. My strengths are helping improve low-level reading and communicating with students that have learning difficulties to develop strategies they can utilise to support their own learning.
