Hi there! I’m a Physiotherapy student in my final year of clinical placements. I am also lucky enough to have a casual role at QCH as a Physiotherapy Assistant. I spent 12 years working within the Children’s hospital (Royal Childrens and then moved over to Lady Cilento - now QCH) as both a paid employee (supervising our play room services for both patients and families, and coordinating volunteers in the wards) and a volunteer (a very special role of Cuddle Carer, settling, cuddling and soothing <2 yr olds so parents could have much needed breaks and relieve nursing staff). My most recent position has been with a beautiful little family of 1 & 3yr olds who have sadly moved back to Adelaide. I absolutely love being around children of all ages. I am very adaptable to the needs of children and I am happy to run around with them if we have energy to burn or if they’re more into reading books or building lego, I will adapt to their needs. I have extensive experience with all ages and abilities and would love to meet you and your little ones. Please feel free to contact me as my schedule is ever changing based on the needs of different families, so although I may not be available to you on a particular time or day, we may be able to arrange something :)

"Kristy was our nanny for 6 months and is the most incredible nanny ever, a total little pot of gold!!! We are heartbroken to be leaving her behind and tried very hard to convince her to move to Adelaide so she could keep working for us!! My 2 kids warmed to her within minutes on first meeting (my oldest usually takes hours to talk to anyone new) and Kristy knew just how to gain their trust, slowly and considered and very cleverly figuring out all of their favourite things. However, she really doesn’t need to try at all as all kids just warm to her without any effort! She has a never ending energy supply and truly loves and enjoys playing all things kids!! She is incredibly safe, having worked in the hospital for so many years I always felt so comfortable leaving the kids with her even when they were sick! I was working shift work and my husband studying for exams so Kristy worked flexible hours for us and replaced me in almost every aspect, mornings/drop offs/pickups/evening routine/overnight/meal prep/house jobs and somehow made the transition totally seemless and stress free for our whole family. Kristy went above and beyond to help all of us be the absolute happiest possibly! She is so fabulous and we will all miss her being part of our days but she will always be part of our lives!!"

"What a find! Kristy is a child-centred person who understands the importance of consistency in expectations. Our kids happily go to her and sleep well in her care. "

Special Needs Experience

I worked at the Childrens Hospital for 12yrs and am currently a physiotherapy assistant at QCH. I have cared for children with a myriad of disabilities and other medical needs with ease, and take pride in caring for them in a safe, loving and caring manner.

Childcare Experience

I have over 15yrs experience caring for children of all ages and abilities. I am very adaptable to the needs of children, and I am generally able to tell what they’re needing before they’re able to tell me (if they’re old enough to do so). I am a very hands on carer and I love to engage in imaginative play, exploration and broadening a child’s mind. I love to teach them about the little wonders of life (animals, travels, rainbows and stars) and I’m not shy when it comes to that dress up box! I love to build a strong relationship with children so that they’re comfortable in knowing that I will take care of them while their parents are away. I am able to help with meal prep, general cleaning and bedtime routines and drop offs/pick ups. I can offer references upon request.
