Hi, I’m Helen! I am a paediatric occupational therapist from Ireland, newly moved to Australia and currently waiting for my OT registration to be processed. In the meantime, I’m looking for child minding work over the Autumn school holidays. My career as an OT has provided me with plenty of experience supporting children’s development, learning, and play in a safe and nurturing way. I’ve also grown up caring for younger children and know how to keep little ones engaged, entertained, and well looked after. Whether it’s crafting, outdoor play, or helping with routines, I love creating a fun and supportive environment for kids of all ages. I’m also very musical and have played the Irish harp since I was 9 and have always loved Disney films and songs. I’d love to help support your family—feel free to reach out!
I have 1.5 years experience as a paediatric occupational therapist working with children with a wide variety of needs and diagnoses.
I've been looking after children since my early teens, when I started babysitting for families in my community. I continued caring for children throughout my teenage years, but I took a break from babysitting in my 20s while I was studying at university and focusing on my career as a paediatric occupational therapist. I’m most comfortable working with children aged 2 and above, as that’s the age range I have the most experience with. I love engaging little ones in play, learning, and routines that support their development and keep them happy and entertained. What I find most rewarding about childcare is building strong, trusting relationships with children and their families. I love seeing kids grow in confidence, learn new skills, and explore the world around them in a safe and supportive environment. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be a positive influence in a child’s life and to contribute to their happiness and well-being.
